The short-game add-on for your shot tracker

Become a short game wizard.

Your shot tracker shows where you lose strokes. We show you why, and what to practise.

Keep the tracker you already use. Add a few taps around the green to log the break, slope and miss side GPS can't see. After a few rounds your patterns show up, each linked to drills that work on it.

Works on its own, too. Shots are entered separately.

Better together

Same three-putt, two views.

Your tracker is great at the big picture: where every shot went and how your round added up. Up & Down adds the details only you can see from the green.

Your shot tracker where

  • 3 putts from 22 ft
  • 34 putts this round
  • Up and down: 31%

Up & Down why

  • Uphill, slight left-to-right, finished short and left. Misread.
  • 79% of your uphill misses are short (91 putts)
  • From 60+ yards, 3 of 4 missed greens finish right

How it works

Log. Spot. Practise. Prove.

  1. Log

A few taps per shot near the green. The next shot is already filled in.

  2. Spot

Patterns in plain English, compared with golfers at your handicap.

  3. Practise

Each pattern links to drills aimed at it, with a target for your handicap.

  4. Prove

Practice scores next to on-course numbers. Trends show if it's working.

Review your round straight away. Patterns appear when there’s enough evidence.

1 · Log

Built for the course. One thumb, no typing.

Slide the distance, tap the break and slope, tap where it finished. Every tap saves, straight to your phone.

  • Filled in for you. Missed 4 ft short? Your next putt is already 4 ft.
  • Every short-game shot. Putts, chips, pitches up to 100 yards, bunker shots.
  • One tap for a mishit. Thin or fat shots are flagged, so they don't skew where your shots finish.
  • No signal needed. Everything works offline, on the course and off it.

2 · Spot

Patterns, not just percentages.

Patterns are sorted into Fix this, Worth noting and Keep it up, each with the evidence behind it.

Scoring putts not dropping 10 of 39 missed from 3–5 feet (26%).
  • Miss grid shows where your misses finish: short, long, left or right.
  • Make rate by distance, compared with your handicap.
  • Filters by course, or your last 1 to 20 rounds.

3 · Practise

Know exactly what to practise next.

Every pattern links to drills aimed at it. 35 drills for putting, chipping, pitching and bunkers.

  • A target for your handicap on every drill.
  • Suggested for you, based on your biggest leak.
  • Practice vs on-course on the same measure, so you can see if range work carries over.

4 · Prove

See the work pay off.

Trends follow short putts made, three-putts, lag putting, chip and pitch leaves, up and downs and bunker escapes. Benchmarks show where you stand against golfers at your handicap.

  • Benchmarks by handicap for putting, chipping and bunker play.
  • Up and downs and sand saves, counted the same way every time.

Questions

Do I need to stop using Arccos, Garmin or Shot Scope?

No, keep it. Your tracker handles the whole round. Up & Down adds the detail around the green that GPS can't capture, like break, slope and which side a putt missed. They work well together.

Up & Down also works on its own. You enter shots separately; there’s no automatic connection between the apps.

What is Up & Down?

An Android app for logging putts, chips, pitches and bunker shots in detail. After a few rounds it shows the patterns behind your misses, compares you with golfers at your handicap, and links each pattern to drills that work on it.

How long does it take to log a shot?

A few seconds. Each shot starts where the last one finished, so you usually adjust one or two things. No typing and no save button; every tap saves.

How many shots before I see patterns?

A pattern needs at least 5 shots of a kind, and a clear lean one way. Putting patterns often show up after one or two rounds; chips and bunker shots take longer because you play fewer of them.

When looking at a single round, the minimum is four shots of a kind.

Does it need a connection on the course?

No. The app works fully offline. Every shot is saved on your phone as soon as you tap.

Where is my data, and can I back it up?

Only on your phone. There is no account and nothing is sent to us. Android's own backup includes it if you have that switched on, and you can save a backup file yourself at any time.

Can I use it during a tournament?

Yes. Recording your shots during play is permitted under Rule 4.3a. Check the local rules, as some events ban electronic devices.

What does it cost?

€29.00 as a one-time purchase. No subscription and no ads.

Is there an iPhone version?

It's coming. Leave your email and we'll tell you when it's out.

Your next three-putt isn't random.

It's a pattern. Find it, practise it, and start getting up and down like a wizard.
